There was one sentence, which was unfinished in my real-time commentary, so I'll complete it here: Omberg has the ONLY Southeast facing take-off for HUNDREDS of kilometers.
SE is a rather unusual wind direction in Southern Scandinavia (SW winds prevail) and besides, in the summer (and even later on this very day, May 9th!) a westerly breeze from the great lake Vättern might oppose any E or SE wind. Even when the wind is right on, it's strength may or may not be right for soaring Omberg...
So on the very rare occasion, when everything seems to fall into place and there is a good chance of being able to take off from Omberg on one or even two consecutive days, it's time for me to drop everything else and make a combined paragliding/posterity-visiting trip east from Stenungsund ("St:sund" on the map at the beginning of the movie).
To my surprise and anstonishment, not even one of the usual suspects had had the good sense to make the trip to Omberg on that fine spring Sunday. Many earthbound excursionists had wisely made it there, though .
So could not but once again fly in solitude on both days - more splendidly so on the second one.
P.S.: The noticeable wind noise in this vid is a problem that I have managed to solve only later on in the summer.
The audio is uncensored, even though in hindsight, I think I should have abstained from making one or two of my comments ;-)
