You can do it! I'll be cheering you on from down here. You should do the name thing like you were talking about. Write the names of the people that give you motivition, so when your running this, and you need that extra oomf, look down and remind yourself...

I had no idea this much went in to it. I knew it would be a lot of training physically, but I didn't think it would be such a psychological thing as well.

Would you consider yourself addicted to adrenaline? I've known people who've started getting in shape and have been completely obsessed with working out and just attributed that to an adrenaline addiction.

Sorry for the novel ^ , but good luck. Not that you'll need it. :P

oh yeah. a LOT goes in to training for a marathon. it takes a lot of time, focus and dedication. training for something like this is both very physical and very mental. you have to push yourself beyond what you ever thought you could do.

at this point i would consider myself addicted to working out. i used to be fat, but three years ago i lost 50 ponds by eating right and working out a lot. now that i've switched my focus from food to exercise, my world changed and i feel great!

I'd never heard of this before.....I've begun my own training session for next year's run in Duluth.....this is interesting to see your take on it. Best of luck to you!

thanks, scruff! different people deal with training/running in different ways. you might never experience taper madness, but a lot of people do.

    :-)

good luck with your training! you're gonna rock!

    Madness!!!

I can only imagine what you're going through.

The only thing I can vaguely liken it to, is when I used to revise for exams, and I used to work through the past papers. Then you run out of stuff to practice with, so all I had to do was to wait for the big test.

Anyway, good luck with it all!
