This selection is video shot for my Bamako, Mali mural documentary. I stumbled upon this ceremony while hiking the hillside above the Sikoro neighborhood in Bamako.
I have been told by a Bamako photographer that part of the purpose of this ceremony was to rid the demons from one of the women in the crowd.
