3. The Gift
Directed by Carl E. Rinsch, ‘The Gift’ Belongs to the "pararell Lines" Phillips Cinema campaning. Placed in Russia, The Gift is a Sci-Fi short with a savage Chase sequence on it. We made more than 20 full CGI shots for the short. Check out the animated pictures to see how it has been done. We also made the vechicles and some characters desings. We enjoyed creating such an unusual atmosphere and sense. Not the regular Sci-fi film we are used to see...

The CG was incredible, excellent work, loved the editing too, the pace of the tracking shots in the beginning mixed with the different locations led me into the film in an exciting way.

thank you for making this, it was very entertaining.

this is one, if not my favorite short on vimeo. one, because it was directed by Carl E. Rinsch, two because it was scored by Amon Tobin and three the post sound was done at 720 sound design here in santa monica.

all of these equal the incredible cyberpunk that is "The Gift"

This is ultimate work! This is greatest imagination! First time I have seen this movie long time ago, and I keep watch it frequently, it is in my hard disk. This project was made by Philips Electronics and there were some other movies also in competition but personally this was the best work, but unfortunately this was not selected as the best movie! Carl E. Rinsch is great young SCI-FI director, this is greatest creation, I love design of white Robot, and that box is so innovative! And Bike too is fantastic. Stunning breezing location in Russia, and over all great cinematography and fight sequence.

I actually wanted to wish everybody who are associated with this film, they have done great job, full marks. Great edit, well done.

You say you saw this long ago? How "old" is it?
  • Kaushik 2 months ago
I guess it is one year old, lest say 12 months old. Do you think is it old? And here people are seeing it first time, so for me it is old. I am sending you link in personal message.

really nice photography, art design and direction but i do not like the feeling of being lost in a story which hides almost everything. but indeed good stuff for a longer piece.

Absolutely masterful. I will be honest, I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did, I personally hate watching films with CG these days as I cant help pick out the parts I know aren't real which ultimately ruins it for me. Apart from a couple of the cars in the chase sequence, the CG was as real as anything else I have seen. When you are doing a better job than blockbusters like Planet of the Apes then that's pretty special. Loved every second.

This is excellent. Outstanding manufacture, great atmosphere, impeccable photography, but corny subject matter. Let's forget once and for all of unicorns and create new mythologies.
