This two-day session engaged funders, Aboriginal Peoples Organizations, and others in a discussion on key challenges and opportunities with respect to fresh water and First Nations communities. The event, co-hosted by the Circle on Philanthropy and Aboriginal Peoples and the Canadian Environmental Grantmakers Network, fostered a better understanding of the sacred relationship First Nations peoples hold with water, and helped to identify an initial inventory of potential opportunities and solutions. The topics covered range from the global to the local, including water rights and justice, water and health, public policy issues, local governance, sanitation and water delivery.
