A short GoPro clip from a nice XC flight on 11/11/11. After corkscrewing up to cloudbase (2300m) above Smoko to the east of Bright, whispy's suddenly started forming just below base. I saw Dan A. below, so SATed down to meet him to fly together to Harrietville at the end of the valley. Pulled out at 2000m but ended up lower than Dan - the world spins fast making it hard to judge when to stop at his altitude as he was in the distance. I didn't realise Mt Feathertop (1922m) was so close and heard later from Brian Webb that it's top landable, but it's a 3.5 hour hike along the ridge-top to Mt Hotham ski resort if you can't relaunch. If I didn't kill the good altitude gained it would have been possible to get to Feathertop. Next time. Beautiful flying around and above Victoria's highest mountains in late spring.
