Jack Claiborne is a native of Charlotte For 35 years he worked for the Charlotte Observer, first as a reporter and then as an editorial writer. He witnessed many momentous events in Charlotte, including the early years of Charlotte College and UNCC. He ended his work career in the UNCC Administration.
Mary Dominick, a UNCC graduate student, interviewed Mr Claiborne for her M.A. thesis on Charlotte College.
