This is absolutely glorious. An extraordinary piece of machinery. I've seen the Jacquet-Droz androids in action, and still have one of the drawings from that day. I would love to see this automaton on display, and I hope it gets the recognition it deserves.

is the automaton being driven by software to create the image, or is the drawing created on its own by the mechanics?

I was thinking the same. There must be a box somewhere sending signals for movements.
If its driven by mechanics it would be twice as awesome! Nevertheless, its still magnificent!
