How did you accurately count dots?
  • Paul Wong plus 2 months ago
You can also use measurement per square inch, etc. Very nice work.
  • Neil V 2 months ago
How would that work when some areas have a greater density of dots than others?
  • Brandonn Zamudio 2 months ago
It wouldn't, but don't worry about it dude.
  • Carlos Canhisares plus 2 months ago
Yeah, why worrying? It's a very demanding work anyway. And beautiful!!
  • Sveinn Davidsson 2 weeks ago
Who's worrying? I think the question is interesting...
  • Mateo Anzola 1 week ago
Actually I think counting all dots might just be as simple doing rounds of 100 or 1000 and keeping score. To be sincere, the art behind the counting impresses me more.

compliments!! they come from hy hometown in Germany: Nuremberg - you can visit the site, where they design and develop these things, pens etc. ... ;-)
  • Tigger Bourne 2 months ago
Thanks! Did you have a strategy for the shading, how many dots for dark and light?
  • JJ Sereday plus 2 months ago
Cant go wrong with Microns, and the fact that you only used one is pretty remarkable.

Absolutely love this piece! Not just the work but the video as well. Posted it to trendyslave.com/.

This is incredible, but why take such an ugly photo as a model ? With your dad looking pretty sharp in the video and all…
  • Jack Ebensteiner plus 2 months ago
I didn't think it was ugly. It looked like he scanned his face in a big xerox machine. I thought it was a fun photo and it possibly indicates his dad's fun-loving/playful nature.
  • Idil Ciise 2 months ago
I agree with you Jack Ebensteiner!
  • Carlos Canhisares plus 2 months ago
    Great answer!!
  • Michaël Betsch 2 months ago
Everyone I showed the video to told me exactly the same thing : extraordinary editing and drawing, ugly photo. You guys seem rather biased. (I don't mean to insult any of you, of course)

    Again, awesome work :)
  • I agree with you (M Betsch). Awesome technique, skills. Not very good composition.

Very impressive work! This piece is a great motivator for endurance and hard work. Especially considering, it's not just the act of making thousands of dots. It's also composing all of those dots into an amazing image. The work looks very realistic (so much so that I'm wondering if there was a photo guide, but don't spoil it for me!).

Superb work, but I was expecting to see a closer and more detailed look of the final result in the end of the video. Can you provide it? I want to show it to my nephew, and would like that he could take a good and more patient look, to get the general idea of the amazing details of the work...
