Acclaimed artist, Gary Smith was commissioned by the Corktown Residents and Business Association to create a grand mural on the south wall of the Toronto Humane Society building in central Corktown. The mural honours the district’s historic past and it’s youthful exuberance. Corktown is one of Toronto’s historic original neighbourhoods and is home to both the working class and creative. Young and old innovators and businesses are drawn to this district. Next year marks the 125th anniversary of the Toronto Humane Society.
