This is the birth of my third baby, born in the water in our own home with a wonderful support team. I caught him myself without any help.
His big sisters were there, (you can watch each of their births here too) as well as other family I had asked to come be with us.
I hope the captions are large enough to read, you might have to watch in full screen to read them all.
His birth was simple, but also challenging. His process was very emotionally trying, though thankfully quick, but still wonderful in the end. No matter the ease of the labor, it seems there still comes that point in each birth where you feel as though it's impossible. And then you do it! There is nothing like that victory to start off your baby moon.
Each birth I have been through has it's own unique set of emotions and circumstances, and it's own energy. Christian's was very spiritual and heavy for me, where as Isla's was very joyful and funny.
I tried to cut the video down as much as possible in length while still giving you a feel for the whole experience. This video includes short segments of early labor, all of transition (most difficult transition of all my births, though it wasn't long) and birth, as well as post partum care, bonding, and learning to nurse.
The actual delivery takes place about minute 20, if you'd just like to see the birth. :)
I may make a short version that just includes the five minutes before and after the birth, and a few labor photos, for those who don't want to take 45 minutes to watch all of it. But that will have to be another day. :)
I added a photo slide show of Christian's first year at the end, since it took me a year to finally get this project finished! The sound track is the song that was playing at random as he was born, Hosanna by Hillsong United. I could not have picked a more perfect or fitting song to sum up this pregnancy journey and the birth of this little boy who has brought even more joy into our family! I hope you enjoy it!
You can read the birth stories of all three kids in my own words at mynaturalbirthstories.blogspot.com, I hope they inspire you!
With love and best wishes,
Sharon
