The Hurunui is the closes river to Christchurch paddlers. It can be paddled at all flows. It has sections on it for paddlers of all levels. The varying flows make it such a good river as the features are always changing.
This video show a trip made at about 20 cumecs in late Jan 2009. This movies shows just how many paddlers use this river. It is a very popular river for canterbury paddlers. You will find large numbers on it during any given weekend during the summer months.
