The 'Next Steps-forum for families' event was planned and coordinated by the VCAT lead committee 'Parents of Children with a decision making disability' in partnership with Victoria Legal Aid. The committee was formed by VCAT President Justice Iain Ross, as a result of VCAT consultations with the Victorian community and disability service providers and support services . The aim of the committee was to establish linkages and partnerships between VCAT, significant stakeholders and disability services and supports and to improve access to and understanding of the Guardianship List at VCAT and current guardianship law for the community, particularly for the parent's of adult children with a decision making disability.
