My Beta 5 MacBook arrived this week. We were all thrilled! Mei quickly took advantage of the box. I thought I would try out the new iMovie (iLife 08). Generally, I think it might be a good program, but I was too used to the control I had in iMovie HD. I especially disliked how hard it is to add prerecorded music. Had to fiddle in GarageBand to add my own stuff. I did like how the new iMovie has the "crop" feature so that I didn't have to bother with letterboxing. Overall, we are very happy with the new MacBook!

btw, Vimeo, I love that now I can upload .m4v's!

Awwww! Cute kitty! And YAY! New MacBook! :D I like iMovie 08, it takes a little getting used to but is really easy for cutting together movies really quickly, I do miss the timeline though for sure..

I thought that too but it actually is more similar than you'd think, I used it to make the Giant Jaffa video and it was surprisingly easy.. if you don't like it you can still download the old version from Apple's site apparently? :)

One of the first things I did was download iMovie HD. I might try it a few more times, but for some reason it always stalls on me. Also, having to load thumbnails from videos in iPhoto takes ~5 minutes. Way too long.
