Behind the scenes featurette about the Arbor Film Project Fall 2011, an eight-week after-school filmmaking program that I developed and taught at the Arbor School of Arts and Science in Tualatin, Oregon. Five students - ages 10 to 12 - collaborated to write, shoot, and edit a horror movie about a mysterious creature that haunts a science class.
The After School Film Class is an after-school filmmaking program at the Arbor School of Arts & Sciences in Tualatin, Oregon. In ten two-hour sessions (one per week), students (5th-8th grade) team up to direct, write, film, act in, and edit an original film production. The program emphasizes storytelling fundamentals, theatrical performance, technical filmmaking skills, student collaboration, and personalized instructor mentorship.
