UX Week 2008 | Rachel Hinman | Lessons from Oz: Designing for the Mobile Experience
2 years ago
Sensors and GPS and touchscreens and gestural interfaces and open application platforms… Oh my! Product and technology innovations are opening up new and exciting opportunities for creating mobile experiences. These interactions have the power to be more empathetic to the human condition with implications beyond the mobile context. However exciting these opportunities are, they can also be daunting, requiring designers to work outside the contours of their own assumptions to view the world through new lenses.
Using cues from Dorothy’s fanciful journey in The Wizard of Oz, Rachel Hinman, a Design Strategist at Adaptive Path, shares her unique perspective on mobile service design, mobile social networks, and mobile interface design. She will also offer insights into how designers can make the most of the wealth of opportunities in the mobile world and beyond.
