Oh my god, Marco, tell us everything about that, please. What camera, what lens, adapter?, where, when, everything!

You have a great eye, man. Keep making movies.
  • Marco Aslan plus 9 months ago
    Thanks Jason! :-)
The camera is the HVX200, no adapter. It was shot in France - from Paris to the pays Basque (Biarritz and Saint-Jean-de-Luz). There are a couple of shots of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and 3 shots of NYC (Subway and city). Mostly all France.
    Thanks again! :-)

The imagery is beautiful and nostalgic. The music is poignant. The storyline is poetic... I am guessing that the Voyage is really about the voyage of life? Is that why you started with the old man and the pigeons, and ended with the home movies? Also, is that why the old man remains a constant throughout the theme?

    Nice work!

    Thankyou Marco.

sorry to be a bore.... but - much color correction?

  • Marco Aslan plus 9 months ago
    Hey Anthony
A gradient was added in all the shots. This concentrates light into the center and darkens the edges. This causes the colors to change and adds warmth to the shot.

I'm sorry - I do have an HD version of this. BUT I don't seem to be exporting the right HD export for Vimeo. The video seems to miss a couple of frames or something (Video: "Brief Moment")

    Amazing video!
I love the fragmented editing and the stunning imagery. I think that you could make a better soundtrack choice. This is just too sad for my taste. It would be better if it was mixed with the actual sounds.

Beautifully done Marco! If you don't mind me asking a probably obvious question(forgive me I am an animator)
Were these all random shots or were some scripted? I hope to make something like this someday. Watching it could become daily therapy for me. Thanks for making it and sharing.
  • Marco Aslan plus 9 months ago
    Thanks David! :-)
Nothing was scripted - I usually carried the camera with me and when I saw something interesting I stopped and filmed :)
