Mountainbikeing through beautiful Slovenia in September 2011. Lots of single trails and nice downhills around the Soca valley.

Music by Red Hot Chili Peppers, "By the Way".

We spent in total 4 days and covered close to 5000m metres in altitude. This is the short version. There is a long version as well which contains explicit material - not intended to go public ;-) !!

We carried a Lumix GH1 (14-140mm kit lens, Heliopan VariND) and two GoPro's around - items which are perfect to carry in a small backpack on the bikes.

Very nice video again, but somehow this music did not fit. Maybe some backround sound or different music in some shots will make this video much better?
  • Gunther Machu plus 2 months ago
Yeah, music is of course a matter of taste. Thanks for your feedback, Jyri!

As above, I too think this is first class work with great use of the Go pro and the Gh2. Excellent photography.

I would have liked to have heard some of the audio of the 'gears' and 'tyres' now and then which would give more urgency to the action.

The GH2 can at last have 25p with a recent Firmware upgrade which I have 'downloaded' to my MAC..........do you know HOW to do the Upgrade?

I can find no online info.

    Hi Bob
Use a blank SD card and copy the downloaded file to the card, place the card in the GH2 and switch on, push the play back button and the new update will be spotted.
Ensure that you have a fully charged battery first.
    Cheers

Dear Bob, thanks for that feedback. Regarding the sound, I fully agree. As the GoPro sound was totally crap, I just disabled the sound as a whole. But the GH1 sound is not that bad. I will have a look at it again, maybe I will exchange this file.

Hi Gunther... the Gh1 sound is likely to be crap too! Some fake controlled audio recordings of the gears and cogs spinning and tyres crunching on gravel will be just as convincing --That's Cinema!

Right you are Bob - Sounddesign is what matters! Thats a whole different animal which I need to venture into!

Sometimes I thought:What a place. I want to ride there too. Other times I was scared and would never take a bike there - but I might walk there.
Really a great film. You ought to have a trophy from the tourist ofice of Slovenia!
