The chef in this ramen truck works every friday making ramen for passers-by. Mostly they are workers helping with the clean-up of the town. He was a sushi chef at the best restaurant in town until it was destroyed by the tsunami. His mother was also taken by the wave. Now, he hopes to go to US where he has a job waiting for him at a sushi restaurant in Boston. But until he gets he visa, he will have to wait in Ishinomaki.
