"Elegy" was composed for my new e-book, "Legacy -- I Am My Parents' Son". After a Prelude ("Sing To the Heart!, "Songs Of Micah" and the first part of "God Is the WOrd"), the text begins, with an excerpt from our Declaration of Independence, plus some personal remarks. Then, after a choral interlude, all the text is from an AP feed to the SF Chronicle, "U.S. probe finds strike killed civilians -- general apologizes." Musically, it draws from my CD, "Metanoia -- a Universalist Mass", and all of the music is original, with the exception of the traditional hymn, "Onward, Christian Soldiers".
