This was made at Cal Arts, it uses no computer assistance for the animation ie, it was done the old fashioned way - Old fashioned now - Back in 1984 it was considered quite innovative to use back lighting, multiple camera passes and packs of art that could be cycled and recombined to create variations in color, tonality and graphic form.

This film was rejected from a film festival because "computer graphics are becoming all too common".

So I entered it in SIGGRAPH stating that "software was created in-house" and "special anti-aliasing techniques were developed". It was selected for Best of Show.

Had I mentioned that I was the software and special anti-aliasing meant hand drawing it - I doubt it would have been admitted much less selected Best of Show.
