    Thank you for all your kind remarks. As to how i did it: Lots of animated textures mapped to a sphere equipped with a displacement modifier. Influence: Carl Burgess´ Tales of the Unexpected.

    Wow this is awesome, I love the way the textures seem to slice their way through the orb. It reminds me a bit of some of the work by universal everything and zeitguised. May I ask which software you used? I know Cinema 4D in terms of it's capabilities for these effects, though noticed that Blender was mentioned above. Does Blender allow for such stunning visuals? - This would make some very pretty live sets if Blenders realtime engine could work in such a way...

    @Neal Yes software is Blender, along with some particle systems (CC Particle World) and (lots of) compositing in AfterEffects. I am getting more and more into Blender, which admittedly has a non-intuitive UI compared to Cinema4D.
