Hector Navarro is an undocumented worker from Guatemala. He was arrested early November 2011 in Syracuse after his co-worker tripped an alarm at a bank he had been hired to clean at night. When it was discovered he was not a criminal, Syracuse police turned him over to immigration officials and transported him to a detention facility in Oswego. Arelly, his wife, depends on him to support their family. When she learned of the news that her husband had been arrested, it was up to her to gather $5,000 to post his bail. She approached the Workers Center of Central New York in Syracuse, whom assisted her with gathering the money. The night Hector returned home from Oswego, he began to recollect the severity of his situation.
