The annual Blue Boar Bike ride was started before most of us were born by landlord Jim Kelloway of The Blue Boar Public House, Poole, England, in memory of a chap known as Cyril.

The bike ride takes place annually at the end of August and is a gruelling 25 mile ride around Poole Harbour. It’s an opportunity to dress up in your finest or most bizarre clothes and spend a day cycling and drinking your way through the English country side.

The high light of the ride is a sombre remembrance service for Cyril. Speeches are made, songs are sung and the participants drink to his memory.

The ride finishes where it started, The Blue Boar, Poole.
