Somehow, this song seems both contagious and consoling to me - despite the gloom it transmits - and it reminds me of a few old verses ...: "... The people who walked in darkness/ Have seen a great light/ Those who lived in a land of deep darkness/ On them light has shined ..."
As stirring as "Goodbye" I'd claim.
