According to Kentucky Department of Education in 2009, 16% of high school students did not graduate. The Upward Bound program is fighting to raise the graduation rate by helping kids finish high school and pursue a college degree.
Ashana Wynn has been in the program for her entire high school career. Being the baby of 5 siblings, Ashana will be the first generation college student in her family but, her mothers illness has her worried of leaving for college. (Justin Philalack)
