In 1961, Russian Yuri Gagarin became the first human to go into space. At the moment just before blast-off he famously pumped his fist against the rocket ship window at the crowd below and shouted, "Poyekhali!" Translated literally it means, "let's drive," but since Gagarin's slang usage it has taken on a colloquial meaning, something along the lines of "let's roll!"
