We are honored to present an honorary degree to Herman Meinders, one of the leading philanthropists in Oklahoma City.

Herman and his wife, LaDonna, support local literacy programs for students with special educational needs.

Their philanthropic projects include The Meinders Gardens, major National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum improvements, the Oklahoma Capitol dome project, the Lyric Theater renovation project, and the Meinders Scout Shop. You can read about more examples of their generosity in your program.

In 1992, Herman was inducted into the Sales and Marketing Executives International Academy of Achievement for his contributions to the free enterprise system. In 1998, he was inducted into the Oklahoma Heritage Association Hall of Fame.

And now he becomes an honorary graduate of Oklahoma Christian University …
