It was an early winter day, December 16, 2011, Perfect Florida winter, about 75 degrees! I had been on a business trip to Panama City Beach, Florida and this video was taken in the late afternoon on the way back to St. Augustine, Florida, about 100 nautical miles West of St. Augustine. We were at 7,000 feet. The deck of clouds was at about 6,000 feet and went as far as you could see. The odd thing was how the deck of clouds had a precise boundary, like icing on a cake that had had an edge cut with a pastry knife.
100 miles further on after it had gotten dark we flew down through this layer, and it tested out to be almost three thousand feet thick.
