As we are launching the new website/blog i figure it would be also cool (& sentimental) to share with everyone the wedding 'video' that redefined; yet defined our style + brand.

Despite the age of this video (May 2007); many elements from this piece are still prevalent in our work today.

There are a million 'first times' that we tried in this clip; but a few worth mentioning are:

- Patrick's 'steadicam processional shot'.

- My first 'creative ring shot'.

- If I'm not mistaken, it was also one of the first (if not the first times) we shot the bridal preps using a 1G Brevis unit's that Tony manned.

- First time we edited as a team. I was working a day job @ the time and was on the phone for the entire day of work discussing back and forth with Patrick on how we should edit this piece. He would edit, render, upload online so I could see it, then phone call to discuss, shot re-arrangement etc etc etc, then REPEAT. This incredibly crude (but nonetheless effective) editing process was repeated 20 times in about 8 hours. The clip went thru an entire overhaul (including song change) in a single day.

It's crazy to look back and realize that the ring shot and the Steadicam processional shot set off a huge trend in the wedding video industry. Looking at the new generation of wedding videos; these 2 shots have almost become 'an industry standard' in the worldwide wedding video industry today.

For those very serious about education + training re production; please check out stillmotionexperience.com. We will be discussing the synthesis of how these ideas came about, grew drastically and changed our approach and direction heavily.

This clip also spawned a National TV commercial that played prime time across Canada during holiday season of 2007. The commercial was for the Canon Rebel XTI.

It also won a multitude of international awards @4ever group 2007, and also an international awards @ Weva 2007.

Suffice to say, this piece piece also set the creative + cinematic spark that forever changed our lives as artists, as 'video guys', and as a team.

Isn't it incredible sometimes how things can grow + evolve via only having a small dream, coupled with lots of heart + incredible comraderie?

Cheers everyone + enjoy.
