voice is many things: First, it is the great album from Maja Ratkje coproduced by Jazzkammer, which was awarded with a prize at Ars Electronica in 2003. Second it is the performance at Ars Electronica03 with Ratkje, Jazzkammer and myself, 30 minutes of improvised madness. Third, it is a five minute video based on this performance, first intended as a demoreel for more performances but eventually a little noisy gem in its own right.
First screening at KViKT in Reykjavik, Iceland, as part of the Icelandic Airwaves in mid-october.
The Voice project has continued as a live collaboration between Maja and myself, sometimes guest starring the jazzkammer members, with performances at club transmediale05, the zagreb biennale 05 and the interferenze festival also in 2005.
