When it comes to the strange, unexplainable things of history, some people chalk it up to aliens. You know, green people with big eyes, oversized heads, and extraterrestrial powers. The strange truth of history is that the One who created us and everything we see showed up one day - not to judge, but to rescue us from self-destruction - and was treated as an alien. In that respect, I suppose there was an alien invasion 2000 years ago. It was alien - because it was an invasion of love - in a world that is used to self-interest. It was alien - because it was an invasion of peace in a world that prefers retaliation. It was alien - because it was an invasion of grace in a world that thrives on performance. This alien invasion - if you want to call it that, was not about beaming us up into space ships to do experiments on us; it was simply God coming to us as a helpless baby… offering us His love.
