Polanaruwa, Dambula, Kandy, Sygiria, Nur'Elia

Carolina had a serious problem in her brain, with risky consequences in the surgery she had to be submitted. Yet, she didn´t speed up or slow down, keep on floating through life with an incredible harmony. We were both found of mountains because i was a climber since the age of 6 and she was a mountain born, from a place called Nur'Elia, and so my Gerês was an expected destination for our movement

One night in a place called VIDOAL, when we were set by the fire she said to me

"Nuno, the way you look at the horizon just tell me you have the soul of the eternal travellers, and so you will drop in my surroundings sooner or later. When it happens... you go to my mountains, find a place breathing like this one and stay there for a couple of days. You´ll understand my feelings today. I leave this gift in your future". And then we just abandoned ourselves breathing nature with each other until the sunset arrived

With the idea of coming back to her and get my gift, i just hit the road with those memories as guide, through Polanaruwa, Dambulla, Kandy Sygiria up to Nur'Elia. And this was my Stairway to Heaven with her and Led Zeppelin.

In my way down i´ll drop by again in Kandy, to feel a bit more of the Sinhalese (her) soul.
