Great windy road. Good looking footage. This could be a car commercial.
  • Ryan Somerville plus 1 month ago
Pretty much what I was thinking with-in the first couple of seconds of watching the video.

Great work...What did you use for editing and how was the workflow?
  • cinema5D plus 1 month ago

    thanks for the post

would love if you guys can upload a raw file for this video, doens't have to be the whole video just a 10sec clip

im interested in buying the scarlet and would love to test out grading some of the footage from this! :)

whats the moire in the grill all about?
  • cinema5D plus 1 month ago
I guess that's from the Motion Stabilization in DaVinci. Didn't find a setting to adjust intensity there.
Didn't notice any moire on Scarlet yet, it's just pure beautiful highres footage.

    looks very average.....
  • [MTS]FILMS plus 1 month ago
For a test shoot? And first time in Davinci? And that's the only thing you bother to write? How rude! Giving Matt's a bad name.....
  • Matt 1 month ago
its poorly graded and looks no better than a 5d in the same contex. TBH i'm sick of all the fan boy praise get real !
  • Orlando Briones 1 month ago
    Says the 5D Fan Boy.
  • Matt 1 month ago
how do you figure that ?

Thanks so much for posting the .R3D!! Makes waiting for my Scarlet much easier :)
  • cinema5D plus 1 month ago
glad to hear and thanks for the cool comments
  • Matt 1 month ago
Ok I see why your are attacking me now, i'm sure your Scarlet will be much better than this test !
  • cinema5D plus 1 month ago
Nobody was attacking you. I'm sure you can make nice pictures with your 5D, let's not compete, it's not worth it.
  • Matt 1 month ago
I don't own a 5D my comments are subjective to what I see before me. I'm not competing, not sure what you mean by that ? I'm commenting on what I see (this is the comments section right ?).

Matt, it's very simple. Just don't pay attention to the "fanboy praise" and you won't feel sick.
  • Matt 1 month ago
Why would I pay attention to it ? It just hangs around like a bad smell. I love all cameras people need to get over this one brand mentality and just get on with using whatever tool is best for the job !

Looks gorgeous, great test. Soundtrack used?
  • cinema5D plus 1 month ago
That is a piece by Chopin called "Berceuse in D-flat major Op. 57"
  • Manuel A. Calle plus 1 month ago
    Much appreciated!

Footage looks great, but I don't know that I would have stabilized so much of it. It gives the footage a strange "wave" that I can't stand - doesn't reflect well on DaVinci (I'm assuming that's what you used to stabilize the footage) or on the lens/camera you used.
  • Sebastian Woeber 1 month ago
Also couldn't stand it, but didn't have the nerve to find out how to reduce it. I felt it was all or nothing. This was at the end of all the motion tracking and the computer was incredibly slow at that point. Sorry, next time
  • Spencer Tweed 1 month ago
Guess you could have left it out, or After Effects's Warp Stabilizer is quite amazing at fixing this! But then again who in their right mind would export 2 minutes of 4k footage to After Effects? Anyway, like you said - next time...

question! is after effects really slow at rendering stuff for everyone? i thought it was just my slow 'early 2011' macbook pro with 8gb ram ? same with rendering out video in ps cs5.5 extended.. that stuff takes hours where as in fcpx its real time instantly..

Is that recorded on a 4K resolution ? Looks like a 5D footage recorded with a better dynamic range.

Looks good not to mention no moire like the 5D/7D.
