As seen at jessicaknows.com

Is calling yourself a WAHM in your marketing efforts killing your business?

Hi Scott! Thanks for your input. I am a Virtual Assitant and WAHM. I actually just started marketing my business more towards fellow WAHM's and Mompreneurs specifically for the reasons you mentioned! Thank you for your insight!

Very brave words, Scott -- speaking the truth to WHAMs! In my work I spend lots of time looking "biggified" to my clients, when I'm actually in my bathrobe and bunny slippers. (That picture on the left may be the last time I've worn a sportcoat in recent memory.)

But image is everything, and in the virtual world VIRTUAL image is everything. So I think you've got it exactly right.

You WHAMed that nail right on the head.

    Hi, Scott
Your post does not fit into the category of 'new and different perspective' you mention on your website. This is pandering to potential clients preconceptions.

The fact is that the very things that clients may see as a detriment to a working relationship with a WAHM are the qualities and skills that are the most valuable to clients and should be promoted ie flexibility, personal responsibility, passion, commitment to values and priorities, focus, specialised skills, communication, respect and cooperation.

I agree, this is not best achieved by shouting to the world that you are a WAHM. However, WAHMs and WAHDs should be encouraged to indentify and applaud the great things they offer BECAUSE they have made the decision to work at home and that's what they should **proudly** promote.
