Cinemode seems important as it enables for easier color correction, as well as a "film" look. The one thing that annoys me about the HV20's cinemode is the lack of manual control... so I attempted to create cinemode in post. I realize that this somewhat defeats the purpose, but it still yields a more filmic look.

All that was done in post was applying a gamma of 1.3 to the linear footage.

In the bottom right; log represents cinemode, lin represents TV mode, and lin=>log represents the conversion from the linear footage created by TV mode to gamma 1.3.

All footage (for both Cinemode and TV mode) was shot at 1/48 sec, F5.6.
