lmao! I don't think it was possible to go slower than the speed you were travelling at. Not only that, I'd HARDLY call that jumping! Not sure if I even need to watch the rest of the video now, it's pretty obvious how unfair the whole thing was.

So funny. Those douche instructors getting all bent out of shape for them not standing still while you busted those tricks....dumb asses. Get their names and tell them to get the fuck out of the side hit jump line.

How come everyone keeps overlooking the fact that there was a kid in the landing two seconds before that mind blowing air in a slow zone?

    :06 check it.
  • chucky 1 month ago
Get a grip, you wanker - at the slow speed he was travelling, there was NO chance at all of going anywhere near that kid. Seriously, get a clue!
  • Andrew Rees 1 month ago
the kid wasnt even there when he hit that "jump" he was a good 20 feet away. just saying.

You cant bring the bussiness with Freestyle to the 80 year old instructor ( not dissing him ) and to the 24 of something years old instructor which never go faster then the sign is ( now i am dissing) YOU ARE SO LUCKY,because in my country its fucking doushes in every mountain resort
  • Fisko 1 month ago
Those types of people arent mad because you go fast or shit like that, they are mad because their lives sucks and they wanted the same to you

HA. I had this same thing happen at Beaver Creek. If I had my gopro on, my pass wouldnt have been taken for the season... you guys are very lucky. Good luck with the dispute, though I highly doubt his job will be in jeopardy if hes been a patroller for any longer amount of time, at least you guys will be in the clear as far as your pass goes.

Tim Taylor needs to resign!!! That is the most disgusting way to treat any person. We are only a couple weeks into the season... How about anger management!!!

i love how ski patrol rolls up and asks the skier what is wrong, then doesn't even ask the boarder for his story before telling him to "shut the fuck up." Real classy Snowbasin.

Also love when the guy is arguing that it's a slow zone but then the ski team is brought in to the picture about their speeds through that area and he immediately flops over to a, that's controlled speed argument. Sorry buddy if a slow sign is posted, speeding is speeding and i don't care if your the fucking pope hot dogging through.

That all said I hope you got your pass back. That was definitely uncalled for.

First off...patrollers rock! Not enough can be said for what they do to make my home resort (Jackson Hole) a safer and better place to be. Are there occasional douchebags?, yes. I've only met one, thank goodness...chalk it up to him having a hard day, missed breakfast and/or lunch or whatever...and poor signage. But this Tim Taylor...let the video speak for itself. The highlights for me: he skis up, looks at the instructor and says, "was he endangering?" and goes right into his shut up, this is how it's gonna be...even though he apparently did not even see anything...and he completely skipped out on listening to the instructor explain any of the details of what went down. The telling slip up was when the camera guys starts in with the "You're harassing us because we're young" and the blue coat guy starts with, "no, no, we're harassing everyone that's boarding"... pause...realizes he needs to fix his statement...adds, "...or skiing." Never would of happened if you were on a pair of twin-tips. Period. Love the Go-Pro footage...like a cruiser cam. :-) Good stuff!

Fast?! Uh...he should see me then. I'm not even sure if you could go much slower and still get off the ground. You might have cut it a little close to that instructor. And to be honest you need to work on that style a little bit, but your lack of a style isn't against the rules at any ski area that I'm aware of. Kudos for acting more mature than someone that was nearly twice your age. I have encountered more than my fair share of these types. It's rather sad. Anyone that treats someone else like that obviously is not very happy with their life.

If I'd told a customer to shut the .... up for ANY reason where I work I would be dismissed immediately, regardless of the customers actions. There's a right and a wrong way to handle a situation and this was clearly the wrong way.

    from Snowbasin's Facebook page:
"We at Snowbasin Resort had an incident yesterday for which we have received much deserved criticism. We are frankly embarrassed by this situation and have taken measures to prevent this type of incident occurring in the future. Snowbasin strongly believes in treating all of our guests with respect. We strive to deserve the respect and exceed the expectations of everyone visiting our resort."

i can only hope that the right person will see this and those two employees get "let go" from basin. Ski patrol need to learn their place. They wear a jacket with a big white cross because they are medics, not police! Ambulance drivers and EMT's don't pull people over for speeding, because that is not their job, and they are too busy saving lives. Plus, even if ski patrol want to try and be cops, they need to learn to respect the people that employee them, their customers. If those who they are out to "bust" weren't there and paying for a pass, the mountain wouldn't make money, and thus they would be unemployed. Ski patrol need to learn some respect for those they are "protecting".......... just say'in ....... On another note, how come Ski & Safety Patrol are the ones who get to decide who's "Going too fast" ???????? There are multiple points i can make here. First: speed is not so much a problem if the person "going too fast" is an expert rider/skier. Fast or slow, it's the people out there who suck at riding and can't control where they are going who are a real danger to others. Second: there are no speed limit signs on the mountain, nor are there speedometers on snowboards/skies. It's just some Patrollers judgement of us that determines if we get in trouble or not for "going too fast". Third: if the people in charge of the mountain want to make it safer, there is a way to do that. Instead of letting Patrollers make judgement calls, they can require different passes for each level of rider/skier determine what parts of the mountain they are allowed to ride. Now, would this suck? Maybe, or maybe not as much as letting some old Patroller who is bias against borders, and young people in general, getting to make the call. Some resorts across the country are already doing this in the Parks, using the PEEPS Program. Now, make that mountainwide. It could work. The higher the level of skill, the more areas your allowed to go and speeds you may travel at. If they stop you for "going too fast", and then see you are an expert (as indicated by your Pass), and not a novice, then they simply say "have a great day". But Hey, this is just an idea!

No home improvement jokes yet? its Tim "the TOOL man" Taylor! what did you guys expect. That ski school guy LOOKs like hes in the 80's. Everyone should have a gopro for times like these. I know there are a few cool ski patrollers, but 90% look and act exactly like good ol Tim. Sure hope he doesnt have a job there anymore. People like him really have no place in a resort town to begin with.
  •
  • Kevin Perron 1 month ago
snowbasin did not a apologize, they made a statement to the extent of them showing that they know what happen.. no apology...
We see such an outrage toward this because this is something that happens to many of us as young skiers and snowboarders very often.. im sure most everyone who is sticking up for these kids has had this discrimination happen to them or a friend...
This video made me infuriated along with snobasin's lack of response

Seems like a legit move by the patrol. All part of teaching the irresponsible youth how to behave respectfully.

Please don't take jumps while in a slow ski zone and while tykes are around. The instructor was even physically blocking the jump while the little kid traversed the area just below the jump. Your buddy skied around him to take the jump.

A perfectly legit bust. Sadly, it seems you failed to learn your lesson.

You moron, Giorgio Gunnelli. All your ignorant comment proves is that you have no clue whatsoever what you're on about.

It was a SLOW zone, and he was going SLOWLY. There were NO signs saying jumping was not allowed - and besides, he barely even left the ground!

Quite simply, anyone viewing this video and thinking the riding displayed was 'dangerous' has NO place whatsoever being on ANY ski slope, anywhere - as their incompetence and poor judgement would make them a serious danger to all those around them!

Wow. Haven't seen crap like this since I moved out of the midwest. Glad Stevens Pass in Washington doesn't have asses like this patrolling/teaching. Maybe the boarders were out of line, which it didn't look like from the video, but man... to talk to your guest like that? Very unprofessional.

Any other public place and you did something like that as an employee you'd be fired on the spot. This is completely unprofessional and truthfully shows that some people still don't respect people who snowboard and use them as a scapegoat in a way. Sorry this happened to you guys. But big ups for be classy

What does not show in this video is that a skier had just come within a foot of being hit in the head as the boarder flew over him doing a 360. This was not the first time that day that this boarder had been called on his reckless behavior. Kudos to the Snowbasin employees for stopping these boarders. These boarders displayed reckless, irresponsible, and out-of-control behavior. Harassed? No. These young men are spoiled, not held accountable for their behavior and lack respect for rules. (Nice parenting job, Mom and Dad).
The boarders should have immediately had their passes revoked and escorted off the mountain. Snowbasin should fully back their employees as they challenge this reckless behavior. If not, they will be opening themselves up to The Mother Of All Lawsuits when (NOT if) someone is killed or seriously maimed on their mountain because the behavior of reckless boarders is allowed to go unchecked and unchallenged.

You moron, idahogirl. All your ignorant comment proves is that you have no clue whatsoever what you're on about.

And WTF is this: "What does not show in this video is that a skier had just come within a foot of being hit in the head as the boarder flew over him doing a 360"?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!

HOW DARE YOU make up such blatant LIES!!! Your duplicitous actions are truly despicable!!! The fact that you would stoop to such lowlife actions, simply proves your pitiful argument has NO credibility whatsoever!!!

I guess the ''guy in blue'' got pissed cuz you went in front of the other guy in blue. That didn't seem like TOO big of a deal, just possibly a warning. But it was obvious they were just staring at you guys looking for the chance to fulfill the stereotypes of recklessness through punishment by looking for the slightest mistake in your guys' riding. Then the real patroller stepped in for the guys in blue claiming you did something wrong and threatening to clip your passes. You guys should get free season passes.

#1, pretty amazing the inability of the patroller to use good judgement. And #2, to proceed with a mature conversation. The two crucial elements in this exchange. I saw absolutely nothing to warrant even these kids to be told to slow down. And I also saw them having the ability to have a mature exchange, while the patroller #failed.
