jesus...it's a beautiful song. and the images are haunting, lyrical, ethereal...all that shit...BUT the video is too pristine. It doesn't quite capture the ghostly feel of the music...it's too crisp...clean. It should look dreamlike...gritty...this is an example of where shooting on film (16mm...gritty) would have worked better, I think. At 4:05, when the two figures on in the field, alone in the bottom right of frame...the texture is perfect. The whole video needs to feel like this.
But it looks like a sitcom when it should look like an art film. Regardless, it's a gorgeous song. The images, however, aren't as powerful as they should be. They're trivial...and the song isn't.

I didn't go anywhere this year for the Golden Week holiday here in Japan, but after having seen this video, I now know that I didn't need to go anywhere as it is rare that the feeling I am experiencing now surfaces.
