Inside and outside the studio space: David Palazón investigates how art students question the meaning of their work in relation to context and audience. A foldable origami sofa as a movable space to meet and discuss; an installation of interlocking boxes with hidden activities to engage with; the artist as an archetypical and suffering figure tied up on to a giant wheel rolling throughout the streets of Peckham. These are just a few of the many projects showcased in this documentary.
Inspired by a series of talks with pioneer conceptual artist John Latham, this visual research documents how students bring their work outside the college arena and learn from the contact with the real world.
'The practical applications of creative ideas captured in this film demonstrate the energy, inventiveness and potential of art to enrich the experiences of ordinary people in the outside world.' Dr. Jane Chapman Clarke – Author of 'Documentary in Practice'
