Survivor Portrait Gallery Video- Karen Rein
The Survivor Portrait Gallery videos are collaboration between T-LINE TV (tlinetv.com), Mark Jason Photography and Komen Greater NYC. The videos are being produced by T-LINE TV pro bono. The goal of the videos is to bring to life the inspirational stories of the breast cancer survivors that are featured in the gallery. They can be viewed on Komen Greater New York’s website komennyc.org
Karen Rein got an early baseline mammogram at 36 years old. She had no family history of breast cancer and had no detectable lumps. The mammogram did show she had breast cancer. That mammogram saved her life. She is now bravely stepping forward to share her story in the hope that other women will follow her lead and get a mammogram in their 30s. It is her courage, foresight, and altruism in sharing her very private story that can literally save lives if women heed her advice. Early detection is the key to surviving breast cancer.
