1. Digital Light Sculpting

A technique to help photographers light difficult to light objects. One projector can replace many lights and allow artists to light pixel by pixel. In this video I talk about the overall technique and show the making of a couple plates.

very interesting video, I have a question though, did you place the projector in front of the product? (on the bottle I mean) or did you place it behind? On the watch I get it that its in front but on the bottle I got confused

for both it was behind the diffusion material (leelux 400). when it is pointed directly at an object you get very specular light, and the masking effect is not as useful

on the bottle you can see that the label is not lit because the bottle is being back-lit. to light the label additional lights and diffusion material would need to be added to the set. to mix strobe with the projector light the front of the projector is gelled.
