The season of Lent lasts for 40 days, from Ash Wednesday through Easter Sunday. It is a time to reflect on our sinfulness and the sacrifice our sins required of Jesus during Holy Week. For Christians, the sins we tolerate are often the subtle sins of character – like pride, selfishness, and unthankfulness. We tend to justify ourselves by making a bigger deal of the “bigger” cultural sins of the world like murder, adultery, theft, or fraud. But God is focused on dealing with every sin. May God’s Word shine His light of truth on your sins, and fill your heart with the peace and joy that comes through the grace of Jesus.
