natureLAPSE: volume 2
This collection of timelapses was shot throughout Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana from September through November 2011.
Shot with a Canon 60d and Tokina 11-16mm. There are a couple go pro shots as well. Shot as raw files, batch processed in Lightroom 3, exported as jpegs from Lightroom, and then compiled in Quicktime Pro 7 and exported from there as 5k pro res video files, and then finally edited in FCPx on a full hd timeline.
Special thanks to Jonathan Adams who contributed a couple of the shots, and a big thanks to Tad Hutchinson for providing the audio for this piece. Track title "array"

What where your camera settings to picture the Milky Way, like on the first sequence ? (as I can see, landscape doesn't move so you didn't needed a motorized tripod head !?)
Just shoot with a wide open aperture, and I usually shoot 15 to 30 second exposures
I've never been able yet ... I'm gonna try again with my 50/1.8 with these exposure times at 100ISO !
I never could figure out how to take pictures of stars like that as a timelapse and without getting star trails. Are you bumping the ISO up to do this? What is your shutter/aperature at to do this so you don't get trails. Also do you have a motor that rotates or moves while you are taking your moving timelapse shots? Thanks man, good work!
