A festival-winning short version of the feature length documentary 'Local Motives.' It juxtaposes the story of Staples, Minnesota - a former freight rail hub turned depressed rural outpost - with St. Paul's historic Rondo community - an African-American neighborhood that was literally divided in the 1960s upon construction of an interstate highway. Together, they are a story of how people can turn tragedy into a guiding lesson for the future.
