Salman Ahmad led Pakistan’s most popular band, Junoon, known as the “U2 of South Asia”. A musician, filmmaker, physician and United Nations goodwill ambassador, Ahmad has faced death threats and harassment from religious extremists and government forces. He continues to sing, speak, and write on behalf of cross cultural understanding and peace, including in his recent autobiography, Rock and Roll Jihad. This event was sponsored by the Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim Christian Understanding at Georgetown University and was held in Lohrfink Auditorium.
