It does ... it looks like cardboard ... like one of her animations she might do in After Effects.

What are you guys talking about? that is paper. I live in a giant diorama of shaky footage.

    <3 You're organic little moonie <3

  • Love the first audio transition, very effective in drawing me in closer. Is it a single track or are you mixing?
  • Karen Abad plus 2 years ago
The song is snookered by Dan Deacon. <3 That's how it sounds itself, he's a genius.

I love the quality of this! This video is persuading me to go buy a Kodak zi6! Pretty Pictures!

I'm too poor to afford anything else, so I can handle the auto functions, I'll just fix them in post. :-) <3

I was amazed by the quality of this camera especially for the price. When took the camera through the grass, I felt like I was in a movie. Good Job!
  • Karen Abad plus 2 years ago
You'd be surprised what your creative eye and color correction with appropriate audio and editing will do. A camera is a camera, it's about how good you utilize it. :-) Oddly enough, all the footage I had seen come out of this camera, before I bought it, looked really awful, but I needed this for a study I am doing, so I bought it. Thanks a lot Chris

you make that thing sing! What was the music track on this Karen?
  • Karen Abad plus 2 years ago
    snookered by Dan Deacon.

You need to sharpen the blade on your lawnmower it's tearing the grass blades instead of cutting them.
  • Karen Abad plus 2 years ago
haha I'll look into that. Thanks Paul

Iceland. haha just kidding, hmmm this was on the way to the island that is about 15 minutes from my house, just another day in this tiny town amidst the wetlands.

you did it! just don't take it indoors.
  • Karen Abad plus 2 years ago
You. Me. Twins. Oh man...I'm finding that if I even want to think about using it indoors I need to light. What it is Autofunctions. I need to be making more videos for you, this is a good incentive to. Expect some!

Rich, vibrant color. Hopeful, mellow tune.
I'm beginning to wonder. If I should get one, too.

    Nice vid.
  • Karen Abad plus 2 years ago
Unfortunately I'd have to credit the vibrant colors to my post production color correction and not the actual camera.

They are relatively drab. But yeah it's a powerful tool. :-) Thanks

Very cool! I love the beginning with the raindrops on the car window. I could watch them chasing each other for hours in my Dad's car when I was little :-)

did you use any movie softs? because it looks unreally good!
  • Karen Abad plus 2 years ago
I spent a lot of time color correcting it. :-) The camera can only do so much, especially since it costs $160 or so...it's up to you to fix it in post..haha.

  • Karen Abad plus 2 years ago
It's a dinky Kodak Zi6 pocket camera. no additional lens attachment, just the plain camera.

I'm getting it. been looking for a cam like this.
  • Karen Abad plus 2 years ago
It's pretty cool for the price. I unfortunately can't afford anything better because of paying for school, so this little critter will do well for something that I'm working on.

Hee hee well, welcome Jakub, I hope you find things that you'll enjoy and get to connect with some of the awesome community members. I was a little bothered by how shaky this video was, but when I did Smoothcam and FCP told me it would take 12 hours to render, I decided, I didn't care. Haha.

Very nicely done. I fucking love dinosaurs as well. Long necks have always been my favorite.

Long necks are gentle, they won't hurt. Dinosaurs are love and a half...if you let them be.

Karen that's wonderful, after the rain just on the back round isn't that hwy 1 north of SF somewhere? Wonderful with the looking in the mirror. On a recent trip to CA for a tour we drove from LA to SF, it was after a rain and I shot a bunch of stills out the car window, I've left these alone thinking of a future piece which your's has inspired me to do I think... beautiful work.
  • Karen Abad plus 2 years ago
This is actually a couple minutes from my house by some wetlands. It's located midway between San Francisco and Sacramento along the Capitol Corridor. Let me know if you end up putting your stills together, that would be lovely to watch. Thanks for stopping by Jim!

how did you go through the grass so smoothly?
  • Karen Abad plus 2 years ago
I kneel on the grass and I use my hand to swoop around the grass fully extended. Or I walk really slowly.
Oh yeah, I hold the camera upside down. ;-)
  • Rick Macomber plus 2 years ago
I thought you had rigged the cam up on a stick or something so you could walk. Were you crouched over the entire time?
  • Karen Abad plus 2 years ago
I lay on the grass and i start it really close to my body and push it out or carry it/hover over the grass with my hand :-)
