A Brighthelmstone Woodcraft Folk Project
What happens when a group of teenagers from the Woodcraft Folk set out to discover what it was like to camp for their great grand parent's generation in the 1930s?
During 2003 and 2005 the Chaos Venturers, aged 13 to 16 undertook research to answer this very question, assisted by a grant from the "Young Roots" programme of the heritage Lottery Fund.
During their project they interviewed Woodcraft Folk members who camped during the 1930s and 1940s. They researched the food and activities on camp..they even made their own tenets, 1930s style!
Join them on their voyage of discovery, a journey without mobile phones!
