New Apartment. 2nd Thoughts.
I passed the 7 person board to get my brand-new apartment today. Except the funny thing is, it seems to have SHRUNK in the time since I applied four weeks ago. Sigh. I'm totally overwhelmed, of course, and completely freaked out that I made the wrong decision. It's so expensive ($2550) and it's on 53rd and 9th Avenue, which is ... um ... really far away from ... people. Not to mention that I HAVE NO FURNITURE and I have to be out of my current place by Sunday.
Kill me now.
Kill me now.

You also look reaalllly sad in the thumbnail for this video.
Hang in there though. Being able to vent, at least, to a camera isn't a bad therapy.
And in the long run if it doesn't end up working for you, it is not a permanent situation if you don't want it to be.
And to look on the bright side, if it is just your apartment, you can do with it whatever you want! No compromising on the colors on the wall or if the couch is to girly :)
Then I went into it after he had started moving all his stuff in, and was like "Oh man! My room is so small! How am I going to put anything in here?" But now that I have my bed in, and a bookcase, I'm noticing I still have tons of room, that I have no idea what to do with.
You'll be able to afford it! Don't fret! Just enjoy the luxury you so very much deserve... and will be paying for. =)
small is good for one person. you'll like it. you'll see. it's cozy.
There is that great new wine bar right around the corner as well - seems to be very popular (52nd).
Check upnext (www.upnext.com) for interactive 3d maps of the location and what's around.
I will agree with what everyone else has said: the kitchen and bathroom are beautiful, the wood is gorgeous and the furniture-makes-things-bigger argument is dead on. But I just can't believe that's all the SPACE you get for the price. I thought rent in Chicago was pricey...
