Thermal Society

Barrett Klein used infrared photography (FLIR cameras) while peering through the transparent windows of observations hive full of honey bees (BEEgroup, University of Würzburg, Germany). Bees perform waggle dances (communicating direction and distance of desirable destinations to sisters), heat brood, and thermally slaughter an invading wasp (Vespula germanica). Music by the Horse Flies (mix of two pieces written and performed by Judy Hyman).
