Falcon (?) in New York
I don't like birds. I respect them, but I don't like them. If I am alone in a room with a bird, I won't sit with my back to him. I note the nearest exit or if there's a tennis racket nearby.
I was filming something in Spanish Harlem and this giant thing attacked some pigeons nearby. I followed him him a couple hundred yards to this tree, just waiting to see if he would go on the hunt again.
Does anyone know what kind of bird this is? What the hell is it doing in New York?

Josh Davis 9 months agoI think its a red tailed Hawk. Same kind that was on our deck. There is a whole family of them that live near the Park. If you go to the reflecting pool on the East side you can see bird watchers looking at buildings where they have built there nest. -
Kate Gilligan 7 months agoThat is definitely a red tailed Hawk. Last Memorial Day I was walking around my neighborhood of Astoria with friends, and we witnessed an absolutely crazy National Geographic-like moment... and caught it on camera - stills, not film like you did. The hawk found a nest of baby squirrels. It was horrifying and incredible, but one thing is for sure - those hawks are truly majestic. -
